The Daddy Express

Lois has been eating cereal, fruit and veggies for a month or two now and she's really good at it. She's kind of a natural with a spoon. I wonder if that could be genetic? The only problem we have feeding her is that Lois likes to talk while she eats. That's right - Lois loves to jabber at her sweet taters. As much as this behavior makes you want to run for the video camera, it's not always conducive to efficient eating. Sometimes it's hard to get the spoon in her mouth for all the discussion going on.

So Daddy found a fool proof method to ensure that her mouth is wide open for every spoon full of pureed squash. He calls it - The Daddy Express. He holds the spoon several feet above her head, calls her attention to it, and then begins to make a highly annoying sound as the spoon slowly lowers to Lois's mouth. You know the sound I'm talking about. The big rock falling on Wille E. Coyote sound. The dropped bomb falling to earth sound. It makes me cringe - but Lois thinks it's hysterical and starts smiling as soon as she hears it. She intently watches that spoon get closer and closer. And sure enough, as it nears her mouth, she opens wide.

Who knew pureed spinach could be so darn fun?
